Laying Cass Down 3 - The two videos below show the effort it took to get Cass to lay down initially. In this third video you can see the progress in only a few weeks. Next step, no rope at all!

This video is called "fun in the round pen." I think my film crew was having fun making fun of me, and of course Cass was having fun swinging his head around. Really I was playing with him at liberty and having him do a figure 8 around the cones. I did make a mistake with too much pressure on the 3 go at the game. You can see it, I just backed off and he was fine. Then I wanted to show my fancy mount up from the ground saddle, and bridle-less and of course Cass wanted to eat clover rather than help me up. We did get it in the end and it was good fun. Like it should be!
This is an exercise with Valerie and Leo working to go over the bridge. Valerie is trying to get Leo over and he is trying to get the confidence to do this. I was trying to get Val to understand to "close off" certain options for Leo and "open" the option to go over the bridge. Val is pretty small and has a little work on her hands to get her idea to become Leo's. In the end they get the job done. For Val she learned about the power of focus and perserverance. The next time we work on this I will have her give Leo more breaks when he makes an effort toward the bridge, but, one thing at a time. Well done Val and Leo.
